How to Play

About This Game

Typing Rush is a pure reflex-and-accuracy game wrapped around a simple idea: can you type a word before time runs out? Level 1 gives you generous five-second windows with short three-letter words. By level 5 the window has shrunk to two seconds and the words are seven or eight characters long. The pressure builds fast, and even seasoned typists find themselves making silly errors when the clock is ticking.

Unlike traditional typing trainers that reward sustained endurance, Typing Rush is designed for short bursts. Each word is a self-contained micro-challenge. A wrong letter turns the display red for half a second, giving you instant feedback without outright killing your run. That small grace period keeps the game fair without removing the consequence of errors.

The game tracks five levels across an expanding word bank: short everyday words at level 1 climb to multi-syllable vocabulary by level 5. The scoring rewards urgency — idle typing that just barely beats the clock earns 1 point, while typing a word in the first 10% of the allowed time earns the full 10-point bonus.

Why We Built It

Typing Rush was created to fill a gap between casual clicker games and full typing trainers. Most browser typing games either require no real dexterity or are long-session drills. This game is something you can pick up in 60 seconds, push through three to five words, and feel immediate satisfaction — or immediately restart if your fingers fumbled. It also demonstrates how a single text input and a timer bar can produce genuine tension without any graphics engine.

The auto-detect locale system means the game launches in your browser language automatically. The word list stays in English because typing training in English benefits a global audience, but the interface labels adapt to 15 languages so the game never feels foreign.
